" water trucking for emergency affected population, IDPs, and New IDPs in Dar el Salam and El Fasher Gathering sites "

#

With the support of UNICEF and funding by ECHO,Community Development Program (CDP) water has been provided by water trucking for the new displaced persons in El Fasher and Shangel Tobai for 8,650 individuals in IDPs camps and gatherings points from April 2025 to the end of May 2025, where 10 liters per day per person were provided for 40 days for 8,650 individuals. Chlorination and measurement of residual chlorine are conducted before distributing water to the displaced to ensure the quality and safety of the water. This project comes in response to the urgent need for drinking water supplies for the new displaced persons in El Fasher and Dar Al-Salam, resulting from displacement from Zamzam camp and El Fasher. During this period, 40 cubic meters were provided for 33 days despite challenges such as rising fuel prices, security conditions, and the increasing number of displaced persons in need of urgent water supplies. Most displaced families need containers and jery cans to store water.
